This is my 100th post!

Celebrations are in order! This is my 100th post!!!! I have been doing my Mia Bella Candle business since January of this year and am still as excited about it now as I was on day one.

This is a great time of year, as I am getting geared up to do a super amount of retail business for the fall and holiday season. I am in the process of trying to decide what scents I should order to have on hand for my open houses and parties. Any suggestions????

Also....remember September 1st is not that far away, that is the day of the Jerry Lewis telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Since I have Muscular Dystrophy this is special to me and I am raising money to take to the telethon. Be sure and call in on September 1st and donate all you can to this worthly cause. This disease not only affects children, but adults as well.

WOW! I just got my candle of the month products in yesterday. It included 2 16oz Juniper breeze candles and a Juniper Breeze Bella Bar. Is Parraffin Bad?

How our company got started

Bob Scocozzo and Charles Umphred were introduced to home based network marketing in 1988. They have reached top level positions in every company they were associated with and have had organizations of over 50,000 distributors globally.

Carman and Lynn Milazzo started making candles in their kitchen over a decade ago. They were one of the first companies to introduce candles to the fundraising industry and built a huge, thriving business in retail, wholesale and fundraising.

While doing a candle fundraiser for his son's sports team, Bob started talking to the manufacturers of those candles, Carmen and Lynn Milazzo. They told Bob about a new candle they had been working on for a few years which was made from alternative ingredients such as vegetables and other natural, renewable sources. What got Bob's attention was that this new candle burned almost soot free and it smelled better than any candle Bob had ever smelled.

Scocozzo and Umphred asked the Milazzo's for an exclusive contract to market the candle nationwide and eventually internationally.
They named the new candle Mia Bella after Bob's daughter who Bob calls "my good luck charm".

And that is how the company got started!

Summer Love

It is pouring rain here today, and hot and muggy. I have the air conditioner on just to cut the humidity. I lit our new Summer Love candle which is our June candle of the month. It smells so good. I have a family member in the hospital right now and I was thinking....instead of bringing her flowers which she does not like anyway....why not bring her a candle to burn when she's finally home? Working my candle business online

Hi all! I was just thinking today how nice it is to be able to work my candle business from home. I don't have to get up early, and thats really nice since I am NOT a morning person! I don't have to get in the car and drive a long way, and I don't have to get dressed up although I DO get dressed and put on my makeup before I start work so that I'm ready for the day. The best part is...if I need to take a break I can, and I don't have a boss standing over me telling me when I can or cannot have that break.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Hi again!
I have been so busy with things lately...my Mother in law is in a assisted living home, and I have been helping her today. I took her to get her hair cut at the salon downtown. I think it is good for her to get out, and she always likes to go out to eat too.
I also went over to help my Mom's today to help her put a album together for my Brothers 25th wedding anniversary.
It is nice to come home, take a bath and just relax. I plugged in my simmer pot that has the Sweet Pea mia melts in it. It smells so good, it is aromatherapy for me. Ahhhhhhhhh. One thing nice about having my own candle business is that I have all the products, that I purchased at wholesale.

Weddings and gifts

I went to a really nice wedding yesterday, it was in a little town, but it was quite quaint. The bride was my daughters best friend, and so I too have know her for quite some time. She married a guy from England. His family and a few friends flew over for the wedding. It was fun seeing how different they are from us, as far as how they dressed and the way they spoke, but it was awesome. They didn't like the heat here at all, but then it was 90 degrees here yesterday.
For the wedding gift I gave some money, but I also gave them a candle that I know the bride liked from my companies line of candles. Who knows...maybe they will burn in on their honeymoon...... Best part of all I can deduct it as a business expense. I love having my own candle business. I am so excited.... I just got my new mineral makeup products in the mail today! I have already tried them out and all I can say is WOW!!!! Fresh laundry and paint

I was over helping a friend paint her living room today. Before we started painting she lit one of our Fresh Laundry jar candles. I just wanted to say that the whole time we painted we could still smell the wonderful scent of the Fresh Laundry candle OVER the smell of the paint. I went out to lunch today with a friend that I haven't see for quite some time. After lunch we came back to my house just to hang out and talk for awhile. She asked me about my candle business and said she wanted to smell my candles. Bakery Pie Candles

Our company makes the most darling little pie candles. The one I have is a apple pie. It is about 6 inches in diameter and is in one of those little tin pie pans. The candle that is in the little pan looks just like a apple pie too. It smells soooo good, just like I am baking a pie even when I'm not.

Mediterranean Spa candle

Right now as we speak I am burning a Mediterranean Spa scented candle. Wow does it smell good! If I close my eyes I can see myself in a luxury spa and smell the scent of the Mediterranean sea. Concert

I went to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band last night. Anyone remember them??? They are a band from the 60's and 70's. The band members were a bit older but their music was GREAT!!!!. I had such a good time. The band sang alot of their oldies plus a few new ones that will be on their new cd that's coming out at the end of this summer.
Since I have my own home candle business, it allows me to do my candle business work in the morning so that I can get away of an evening to go to things like concerts! Also my candle business is working for me while I am away! I can make money even when I am not home. Want to learn how?

I'm not a party girl

I love having my own home business. For one...I do my work on my computer. I do not have to get out and "sell" anything. I do not have to bug my friends and family. The only time I get out with my business is to make deliveries. People call me to place an order. I then order the product from the company which comes in in 5 days or so. Then I deliver the product. The rest of the time I am on the computer. What a day....I love it! My dog Winston likes to have me home all day too. He's pretty spoiled, but that's a good thing.

Hand cream and gardening

I was out in the garden again today. I planted some more flowers, and then watered my raised bed square foot gardens. I did have to pull a few weeds, but there were just a few. Gardening is rough on my hands though. When I come in from outside, after washing up, I always use my companys hand balm. It is so awesome! It is not greasy at all and it makes my hands really soft. How I work my candle business

I as you know am in the candle business. I looked at home businesses for two years before I found and decided on this one. Rainy day

Today it is raining, so I decided to stay inside and work on the computer. I just got one of our companies simmer pots and filled it with french vanilla melts. It is lit by a light bulb so it is really safe. It smells so good! I think it even help keeps down the pet odors in my home. Working with my schedule

Working at home is so great. I do most of my work online, so I can sit at the computer whenever it works into my schedule. It's cold here!!!!!!!

I am spending the day trying to rest, after my best friends daughters wedding yesterday. We had so much fun! Spa Sations

I was just thinking....I am going to call on all the dentist offices, the chiropractors, and the beauty salons that have spas in town, to see if they would like to smell our new Spa Sations candles. Relaxing

Just sitting here relaxing, after helping my best friend decorate for her daughters wedding all day. I came home ate, then lit a candle before sitting down. You HAVE to smell the new Pear pomegranate candle!

I got in the new Candle of The Month, Pear Pomegranate candles the other day, and all I have to say is WOW!!! I think it is now my favorite! It smells wonderful. I sold all the candles I had in two days and now have more ordered. So far everyone who has smelled this candle has wanted one. I think that this candle is going to be very popular!
I'm off to get a weave in my hair this afternoon, then plan on working after supper tonite on my candle business. It is sooooo nice to be able to work when it works for me. I work for about three hours every day, and I could work more if I wanted to, but I choose to work my business part time for now. It's GREAT to be my own boss. What a beautiful day!!!!!

I am so excited....it suppose to be almost 80 degrees here today!!! What a change from just a few weeks ago when it was only 7 degrees. UGH. I plan on getting out to the garden today and planting my potatoes. The ground is finally warm enough. I love working outside.
Oh, I have to say...You HAVE to smell the Chocolate Kiss candle!!!! I have been burning one lately and oh my gosh! It smells WONDERFUL!!! It smells just like I'm baking brownies. I'm not much of a cook so this is a hands up for me. It is one of my favorite candles, and I know alot of other people like it too, as I sold a ton of them on Valentines day. What a GREAT gift! Lots better than a box of candy.
It's days like this that I really love having a home candle business. I can work a few hours now, then later spend the rest of the day enjoying the nice weather. What a deal. :)

Why I started a candle business

Hi, and thank you for visiting my blog about why I started a candle business.
I started a candle business for many reasons. The first reason is because I just wanted some extra income. Do you know anyone who doesn't? Anyway....I have had health issues for quite a few years and have not been able to work a 8 hour day for quite some time. However, I still wanted to work some. I wanted to be able to work in the part of the day that I did feel good. As I usually felt pretty good for the first few hours when I first get up, I figured I could work durning that time. As you can see, I needed something very flexable. That's one thing that's really great about this candle business!!! Some people just want to work while their kids are in school, and this candle business allows them to do just that.
The other reason I started a candle business is that I wanted to work from home. I wanted to work online as much as possible. I have to say that with this candle business I get to work online all I want! It's great, and alot of fun!
Working my candle business gives me the freedom to work when I want and where I want. I get to meet all kinds of great people and earn profit at the same time. Candles are a really fun way to earn extra income, and I'm glad I started this candle business.
